Ayub Savula, the deputy governor of Kakamega, asserted that Raila Odinga’s chances of defeating President William Ruto in 2027 as the candidate of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance were slim to nonexistent.
Speaking on Sunday in Ikolomani, Kakamega County, Savula claimed that Raila had the best chance of becoming president in 2022, but that for the sixth time since he began his bid, the stars were not in his favor.
Savula also expressed doubt that the Western Region will run a presidential candidate in 2027, claiming that Ruto would likely win easily because he would be up for reelection anyhow.
“Let us not lie to ourselves as Luhyas that we will have our own presidential candidate in the 2027 elections. It will be a smooth ride for President William Samoei Arap Ruto. If you take Mzee Raila again, he will see dust like never before and that is the truth because things have changed,” he said.
