Former Kisii DG Maangi among 6 CAS appointees nominated as ambassadors

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 8 – Former Kisii Deputy Governor is among six Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) appointees nominated for ambassadorial posts in latest diplomatic changes by President William Ruto.

In the recent appointments, Maangi has been posted as Kenya’s ambassador to Kampala, Uganda.

He had been tipped to serve as CAS in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the courts annulled the nominations as unconstitutional. 

Former West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi has also been picked as Kenya’s ambassador to Accra, Ghana while ex-Kisumu Senator Fred Outa was appointed ambassador to Cairo, Egypt.

Kemosi was initially picked for the CAS post in the Ministry of Trade and Industry while Outa was nominated for the same position to the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.

Former Baringo speaker David Kiplagat Kerich was nominated as Kenya’s ambassador to Washington, USA.

He was initially nominated as the CAS to the Ministry of Mining, Maritime affairs and Blue Economy.

Former Kericho Senator Christopher Langát has been assigned an ambassadorial role in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. 

Lang’at was a few months ago appointed a board member of the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Petronila Were who served as nominated senator on the ANC party ticket has been appointed ambassador to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Former Mandera Senator Aden Mohamud Mohamed has been posted as Kenya’s Consular to Saudi Arabia.
