Willy Paul announces new management following fans’ outcry

Musician Willy Paul, popularly known as Pozze, has announced a significant shift in his career with the unveiling of a new management team.

This strategic move comes at a crucial time, as the artist seeks to refocus attention on his music and artistry while distancing himself from past controversies.

Taking to social media, Willy Paul revealed that the decision was influenced by advice from his fans, who urged him to streamline his professional affairs.

“Fellow Kenyans, this is the year. I took your advice, and in a few days, I will be unveiling my new team, my management. The love you people have shown me over the years is tremendous, leaving me with no choice but to listen to you and make things right.”

This announcement follows a chaotic end to 2024, marked by an altercation involving Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz’s team during the Furaha City Festival.

Videos of the incident, which saw Willy Paul being manhandled on his way to perform, went viral, sparking public outcry and a call for better management to prevent such incidents in the future.

Willy Paul’s announcement coincides with the buildup to his first solo concert, Pozze Live, set for February 14, 2025, at the KICC.

The concert has already garnered significant support, with former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko pledging to buy 100 tickets for fans.

Veteran comedian Eric Omondi has also rallied Kenyans to back the show, highlighting Willy Paul’s consistent contributions to the Kenyan music industry over the past 14 years.

“This guy has put in all the necessary work—hit after hit. He’s one of the greatest performers. Let’s support him and fill this show with 50,000 people,”

Mining and Blue Economy CS Hassan Joho is among the high-profile figures who have confirmed plans to attend the Valentine’s Day event, signalling the concert’s potential to attract widespread attention and support.
