Kindiki urges Kenyans to unite as he pays tribute to Raila during Mashujaa Day fete

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 20 – Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged Kenyans to unite behind the government’s vision of a stronger, inclusive nation.

Kindiki made the statement as he paid tribute to fallen heroes including former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during the Mashujaa Day celebratons at the Ithoke Stadium in Kitui.

He acknowledged the contributions of both departed heroes and heroines, who continue to shape the nation’s destiny.

“We gather here today on this Mashujaa Day to remember, reflect and consider where our country has come from. Your Excellency, as you continue to lead us in this reflection, we continue to remember the many people who have sacrificed their time, lives and comfort for our freedom,” he stated.

“We’ve gathered today to remember, reflect and consider where our country has come from. As we continue to mourn the departure of Raila Odinga, we remember those who have gone before us for selflessly defending our sovereignty. What remains is to strengthen the foundations of our country and the economic well-being of our people.”

He urged Kenyans to use the moment of national mourning to reflect on the nation’s history and the sacrifices that shaped its freedom.

He said this is also a time for the country to honour all those who stood firm in defence of Kenya’s sovereignty and laid the foundation for its future.

Kitui Governor Julius Malombe dedicated this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations to the late Raila Odinga, praising his lasting impact.
