The Council of Governors have accused four Senators from the Senate County Public Accounts Committee led by Moses Kajwang of extorting, intimidating and harassing Governors during audit queries in the Senate.
Council of Governor Chairman Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdulahi said the four Senators are extortionists and normally intimidate Governors who do not agree to their demands leading to embarrassment of the Governors.
Speaking during the Council of Governors Annual Retreat under the theme “Re-positioning the Council for Effective Service Delivery in Light of the Political Environment at Silverpalm Resort in Kilifi hosted by Governor Gideon Mung’aro the Council of Governors Chairman said they have resolved that they will not attend the PAC Senate Committee until they iron out their issues.
Abdulahi said the Senators have turned the PAC Committee into a cartel to siphon money from Governors and those who do not meet their demands are normally harassed and intimidated when they appeared before the committee in the senate.
Further he said some bloggers allies to the Senators are allowed in the committee instead of the Senate Communication team so as to intimidate the Governors who do not agree to their demands.
Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki said the four Governors know themselves and refused to name them on record saying as governors they are fed up with those extortionists.
