Gachagua Accuses PS Omollo of Blocking Luo Nation Engagement

NAIROBI, Kenya Mar 25 – Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo of attempting to disrupt his upcoming engagement with the Luo Nation, insisting that efforts to cancel the event will not succeed.

In a statement on X, Gachagua urged authorities, including the Communications Authority of Kenya, to ensure that signals remain active so the Luo community can access the discussion freely.

“Stop pressuring Communication Authority to switch off signals and deny the Luo Nation the opportunity to listen to me. Allow the Luo Nation to listen to everybody and make an informed decision,” Gachagua wrote.

He emphasized the intelligence and discernment of the Luo community, noting that it is capable of evaluating issues independently and distinguishing facts from misinformation.

“Don’t belittle the community by thinking you own them and that you can decide who should and who should not talk to them,” he added.

This statement comes ahead of a scheduled engagement with the Luo community, amid heightened scrutiny and political debate over access to public platforms and freedom of speech during outreach campaigns.
