EACC Arrests Security Firm Director Over Sh5.4mn Tender Fraud in Kisii

KISII, Kenya Jun 24 – The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested a director of a security company over allegations of procurement fraud linked to a Sh5.4 million security services contract at Keroka Technical Training Institute in Kisii County.

The suspect, identified as Gilbert Momanyi Maturwe, a director of Gimo Security and Investigation Services Limited, was taken into custody on Monday in connection with the award and execution of the contested tender.

According to the EACC, the arrest follows investigations into alleged irregularities in the procurement and implementation of the security services contract at the institution.

The Commission said the suspect was expected to be arraigned before Chief Magistrate’s Court 1 in Kisii on Tuesday, June 24, 2026, at 9:00 am for plea taking.

Authorities allege that the tender was awarded under questionable circumstances, prompting a probe into possible procurement violations and financial misconduct.

The case is part of ongoing efforts by the EACC to crack down on corruption and irregularities in public procurement processes across government institutions and public entities.

The suspect is expected to face charges related to procurement fraud as investigations into the matter continue.
