Machakos Governor, Wavinya Ndeti, has urged Nyanza residents to back Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking at a burial ceremony in Ngiya, Siaya County, Governor Ndeti emphasized that the Kamba community had supported Raila Odinga for 15 years, and it was now time for his stronghold to return the favor by supporting the Wiper Party leader.
“As the Kamba community, we have supported Raila Odinga for 15 years, and in some constituencies, he even secured more votes than in his own backyard. Now that Kalonzo Musyoka is vying for the presidency, it’s only fair that you support him,” said Wavinya.
At the same time, Governor Wavinya Ndeti called for respect and understanding between the leadership and the youth. She urged authorities not to silence young people when they express their opinions and encouraged the youth to address their grievances respectfully. “Let us not kill our youth for speaking their minds. At the same time, I ask our young people to correct leaders in a dignified manner, without abusing people,” she said.
Siaya Governor, James Orengo stressed the importance of unity within the opposition, urging them to rally behind a single candidate if they intend to secure victory.
“Kalonzo Musyoka is my friend, and while we support him, we must also put our house in order. We cannot afford to go into the election divided,” Said Orengo.
Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi echoed similar sentiments, urging leaders to unite based on national issues rather than tribal affiliations.
“If we are to come together, let it not be driven by tribal lines. Kenya has moved past tribalism,” said Wanjingi
