The NBA says it is investigating after Philadelphia 76ers centre Joel Embiid had an alleged physical altercation with a reporter.<\/strong><\/p>\n Embiid confronted the reporter in the Philadelphia locker room about an article that referred to his son and late brother, as well as criticising his fitness and professionalism.<\/p>\n The seven-time NBA All-Star and 2023 Most Valuable Player has yet to play this season because of a knee issue.<\/p>\n The incident happened after the 76ers\u2019 124-107 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.<\/p>\n \u201cThe next time you bring up my dead brother and my son again, you are going to see what I\u2019m going to do to you and I\u2019m going to have to live with the consequences,\u201d Embiid is reported to have said.<\/p>\n As the altercation continued Embiid, 30, is then alleged to have pushed the reporter on the shoulder before a Sixers official got between the pair.<\/p>\n Embiid had mentioned the article in question during a news conference on Friday.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I see people saying \u2018he doesn\u2019t want to play\u2019 \u2013 I\u2019ve done way too much for this city, putting myself at risk, for people to be saying that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n In a statement, the NBA said: \u201cWe are aware of reports of an incident in the Sixers locker room this evening and are commencing an investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The post NBA investigating alleged Embiid altercation<\/a> first appeared on KBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n The post NBA investigating alleged Embiid altercation<\/a> appeared first on KBC<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" \u00a0 The NBA says it is investigating after Philadelphia 76ers centre Joel Embiid had an alleged physical altercation with a reporter.
