The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party\u2019s National Executive Committee (NEC) has appointed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as its new Deputy Party Leader, effective immediately.<\/p>\n
During a Monday morning meeting, the UDA NEC decided to replace former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who previously held the deputy party leader position.<\/p>\n
UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire and Secretary General Hassan Omar announced the decision, noting that Gachagua\u2019s impeachment last month rendered him unable to fulfil the role of deputy leader.<\/p>\n
The officials expressed confidence in Kindiki, highlighting that his strong skill set would propel the party forward.<\/p>\n
Kindiki, in his response, pledged loyalty to the party, affirming his commitment to collaborating with other institutions to address challenges facing both the party and the nation.<\/p>\n
\u201cI assure you of my steadfast commitment to the ideals of our party. I will engage with all structures outlined in our party\u2019s constitution to enhance our party\u2019s effectiveness,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
He further acknowledged that he steps into the role at a pivotal moment for the country, reiterating UDA\u2019s mission of fostering unity across all Kenyan communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cKenya\u2019s unity poses no threat to the diverse groups that make up our nation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Gachagua was impeached by the National Assembly on October 8, a decision subsequently upheld by the Senate on October 17.<\/p>\n
