However, it did recommend that the platform upscale its content moderation efforts.<br \/>\nReleasing its Q2 2024 Community Guidelines Enforcement report, TikTok has highlighted its effort in moderating the content in Kenya to provide transparency.\u00a0 According to the report, TikTok states that over 360,000 videos were removed for violating its policies. This figure represents 0.3% of all videos uploaded in the country during the second quarter.<br \/>\nThe report indicates that 99.1% of these videos were proactively taken down before users could report them, with 95% of content removed within 24 hours.<br \/>\nA total of 60,465 accounts were suspended for policy violations with 57,262 accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13 removed.<br \/>\nThis action is in line with TikTok&#8217;s policy to protect younger audiences from inappropriate content.<br \/>\nWith over a billion users creating millions of videos every day, TikTok says it continues to invest heavily in advanced moderation technologies.<br \/>\nIn June 2024, TikTok reported that it removed over 178 million videos globally, of which 144 million were automatically removed.<br \/>\nThese innovations according to the App has helped\u00a0 TikTok achieve a global proactive detection rate of 98.2%, minimizing exposure to harmful content and reducing the burden on human moderators.<br \/>\nTikTok notes that\u00a0 AI-powered tools is a cornerstone of its moderation strategy, ensuring that offending content is quickly detected and removed, often before it reaches viewers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In its latest report on Kenya, TikTok has shed light on the platform&#8217;s efforts to moderate content which has become a subject of contention in the country.
