Political leaders from the Rift Valley region are expressing their support for the current trajectory the country has taken under President William Ruto\u2019s administration. They assert that the country is progressing in the right direction and urge Kenyans to disregard naysayers.<\/p>\n
In response to recent criticisms of the head of state by Catholic Bishops, the leaders, led by Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, believe that despite the challenges, the country is on the right track due to the policies implemented by President Ruto.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are a lot of good things going on in our country. I know that there are challenges that we have as a nation, but I want to request our religious leaders, it is always good to look at the positives because if you feed your people negativity all the time, hakutakua na motisha ya kufanya kazi,\u201d stated Murkomen<\/p>\n
Murkomen emphasised that President Ruto took office during a period of significant economic difficulty but has managed to stabilise the situation in the country and deserves praise rather than criticism.<\/p>\n
He stated that considerable progress has been made in the last two years of the Kenya Kwanza administration.<\/p>\n
\u201cWakenya msidanganywe na wale wanahubiri dini ya uongo kwamba kazi haiendelei. There is enough that is going on in various ministries. Bahati mbaya tuli-inherit uchumi ambayo ilikuwa mbaya. Na kwa miaka miwili tumefanya mengi,\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cKwa miaka miwili tumepunguza bei ya unga na mafuta. Tumehakikisha dola imeshuka. For the first time in the republic of Kenya, we are not importing sugar.<\/p>\n
Kwa sababu ya reforms Rais Ruto ameleta sukari inayozalishwa Kenya ndio tunatumia,\u201d Murkomen explained<\/p>\n
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei shares a similar perspective. He argues that the President should be given time and space to fulfil the promises he made to Kenyans.<\/p>\n
\u201cTafadhali tusaidie rais. Wakati Rais William Ruto alichukua usukani, uchumi ilikuwa mbaya sana. Naomba tumpe nafasi rais aweze kuhakikisha yale maendeleo amepanga yametimia kwa sababu uchumi imebadilika,\u201d remarked the Senator<\/p>\n
Baringo North lawmaker Joseph Makilap expressed regret over the clergy\u2019s criticism of the head of state when indeed he is doing everything possible to make Kenya successful.<\/p>\n
\u201cTukiona Bishops wakipiga rais vita tunashangaa. Bishops kazi yao ni kuombea serikali. Wakiwa wagomvi nani atakuwa anaombea serikali na wananchi,\u201d said the legislator.<\/p>\n
The MP praised President Ruto\u2019s economic reforms, noting that their benefits are already becoming apparent as several state institutions that were previously incurring significant losses have turned profitable. He believes the President deserves recognition for this turnaround.<\/p>\n
