Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Deputy President Doris Petra is banking on the growth of women\u2019s football for the past 8 years in her campaigns as she seeks to be elected as the 1st FKF female president.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Petra is deputized by the current president, Nick Mwendwa, for the December 7th\u00a0elections under the Team Blue slogan.<\/p>\n

A section of football stakeholders led by Leakey Amonya of KISPED Queens FC has lauded Petra, acknowledging that women\u2019s football still has a long way to go and exuded confidence with the current administration in fully transforming women soccer.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsidering the previous state of women\u2019s football in the country, it\u2019s fair to recognize the positive progress made,\u201d Leakey noted.<\/p>\n

According to Eldoret Falcons\u2019 Joshua Okwiry Ariko, Petra has shown a long history of support for the development of women\u2019s football.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy support for Doris Petra stems from her long-standing advocacy for women\u2019s football. Her election as Deputy President, where she continued her tireless work, was a significant moment. Her election as the Federation President will mark a monumental victory for women\u2019s football,\u201d Okwiry explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur support for Doris and Mwendwa stems from witnessing their significant contributions to Kenyan football over the past eight years.My personal experience with Doris Petra, as a former NEC member of Rift Valley, where I currently now serve as chairman of Nakuru County, underscores her dedication and commitment,\u201d Oliele said.<\/p>\n

Alfred Kirui, his counterpart from Kericho, stated that under Mwendwa and Petra\u2019s leadership, football management has made great strides and that the upward trend must continue.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur support for Doris and Nick extends beyond mere partisan loyalty. We recognize the significant progress made in football management and wholeheartedly endorse Team Blue\u2019s vision for the future of football in Kenya, Kirui said.<\/p>\n

Turkana chairman William Lokwee has also rallied behind Petra\u2019s and Mwendwa\u2019s ticket.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe football for schools and women\u2019s football campaign programs have revolutionized football in Turkana County. We\u2019ve witnessed tremendous growth in the numbers of young girls and boys interested in the game, positively impacting security in our county. With Team Blue, we are going to continue to champion grassroots projects that uplift our community,\u201d Lokwee said.<\/p>\n

Other county chiefs who have declared support for the current regime include; Nairobi East chairman Dickson Doyo, Ahmed Noor of Machakos,Nyamira chairman Vincent Nyasani, Kilifi chairman Dickson Angore, and Bomet chairman David Siele.<\/p>\n

The recent county elections saw 31 of Petra and Mwendwa\u2019s allied members elected as chairmen, giving their campaign team a significant victory and an upper hand heading into national elections.<\/p>\n

The FKF National Elections are scheduled for the 7th of next month, and Petra and Mwendwa team will compete against the other 7 candidates: Hussein Mohammed, Cleophas Shimanyula, Chris Amimo, Sam Owino, Barry Otieno, Tom Alila, and Sam Ochola.<\/p>\n
