{"id":103527,"date":"2024-11-27T12:07:47","date_gmt":"2024-11-27T12:07:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/11\/27\/govt-creates-582-additional-sub-national-level-administrative-units\/"},"modified":"2024-11-27T12:07:47","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T12:07:47","slug":"govt-creates-582-additional-sub-national-level-administrative-units","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/govt-creates-582-additional-sub-national-level-administrative-units\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt creates 582 additional sub-national level administrative units"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 27\u2014The Ministry of Interior and National Coordination has established additional administrative units in the country to address the demands of a growing population.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Acting in his capacity as the Interior Cabinet Secretary, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi gazetted the new units on November 22, comprising 31 sub-counties, 59 divisions, 170 locations, and 322 sub-locations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 14 (1) of the National Government Co-ordination Act, 2013, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, with the approval of the President, establishes the following Administrative Units as Service Delivery and Co-ordination Units, effective November 2024,\u201d read the Gazette notice dated November 22.<\/p>\n<p>New sub-counties include Magarini South, Magarini North, Akachiu, Mukothima, Ndithini, Illeret, Kolowa, Baringo West, Mukutani, and Saboti.<\/p>\n<p>Others are Embakasi South, Roysambu, Ruaraka, Samburu West, Ndhiwa East, North East Kano, Ndhiwa West, Siaya West, Embakasi East, Embakasi West, and Embakasi North.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the ministry renamed some existing sub-counties. They include:<\/p>\n<p>Maua (formerly Igembe South),<\/p>\n<p>Zombe (formerly Mutitu),<\/p>\n<p>Sigowet (formerly Soin Sigowet),<\/p>\n<p>Tiaty Central (formerly Tiaty West),<\/p>\n<p>Ndhiwa West (formerly Ndhiwa).<\/p>\n<p>Newly divisions include:<\/p>\n<p>Adu and Garashi in Magarini Sub-county,<\/p>\n<p>Sagalla in Voi Sub-county,<\/p>\n<p>Garsen Central in Tarasaa Sub-county,<\/p>\n<p>Bura in Wundanyi Sub-county, and<\/p>\n<p>Damajale in Liboi Sub-county, Garissa County.<\/p>\n<p>New locations established include:<\/p>\n<p>Rong\u2019e Nyika, Nyika, Chawia ya Chini, and Mrughua in Mwatate Sub-county,<\/p>\n<p>Werugha, Choke, and Mghange in Taita Sub-county,<\/p>\n<p>Welhar and Daidai in Dadaab Sub-county, and<\/p>\n<p>Ngongoni in Abogeta Sub-county.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the ministry crated new sub-locations including:<\/p>\n<p>Njerune, Gitine, and Mugae in Igoji Sub-county,<\/p>\n<p>Kamburu, Tumutumu, Thubai, Kilili, and Kilalai in Igembe South Sub-county,<\/p>\n<p>Kirimara and Tetu in Laikipia East Sub-county, and<\/p>\n<p>Sokoni and Pipeline in Gilgil Sub-county.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 27\u2014The Ministry of Interior and National Coordination has established additional administrative units in the country to address the demands of a growing population.
