It is the responsibility of the government to protect and serve all Kenyans. We have to protect but also deal with those who violate the law,” said Mudavadi.

Mudavadi was speaking in Mukhweya, Kabuchai constituency in Bungoma County during the burial of Mama Ann Nanyama the mother to National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.

He said the police are keen to ensure that law and order is maintained in the country, since without peace and security the country will not make any strides towards positive economic progress.

The police have since refuted any allegations of their involvement in the reported abductions in the country.

“The Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli who is the son of the soil, is here and he can attest to the position that has been taken by the police service regarding these reports. The police are here to serve and protect all Kenyans,” said Mudavadi.

The reports on abduction have sparked a widespread public outcry in the country with citizens seeking accountability from the Government.

“It is important to state that the Kenyan constitution, guarantees fundamental rights and freedoms to all citizens, and outlines the standards and procedures under which law enforcement agencies are to operate,” he said.

Mudavadi urged Kenyans to remain patriotic and support the government for it to deliver on its promises to the citizens.
He said Kenya has remained to be the best example in the continent and regionally as a beacon of peace and togetherness a gesture that he said must not be wished away by mere critics meant to divert the focus of President Ruto’s development agenda.

“We should be very careful of what we wish for our country as citizens. Security and national stability remain paramount for this country to develop and compete on the regional, continental and global front,” remarked Mudavadi.

Mudavadi said President Ruto’s administration had to take hard decisions in its first two years after taking power in order to get the country’s economy back on track.

He said public debt and pending bills had grounded the economy of the country and there was an urgent need to make the right decisions though painful at the moment.

“In the first two or three years after taking power you have to make difficult decisions rather than populist decisions. This is what President Ruto has done to ensure that he turns around the economy of this country. He had to bite the bullet and do away with fuel subsidies, for example and subsidize production rather than consumption,” noted Mudavadi.

“Affordable housing project which is anchored in our constitution has taken off because hard decisions had to be made. Same to the roll out of the universal healthcare program which has has its fair share of resistance but now it is working since populist agenda were put aside and focus turned to what is good for the public,” he added.

Mudavadi also lauded parliament for standing its ground and ensuring that critical legislations and bills have been passed to make the executive deliver on its development agenda.

“Parliament had to ensure that the wheels of the nation are turning and it concentrated on what is key to make government run. That has not been an easy move but a hard stand that will ensure we move the country to the next level,” said Mudavadi.

“I want to assure Kenyans that projects initiated by this administration are steadily progressing including the plans to dual the Nakuru – Mau Summit Road and the extension of Standard Gauge Railway to the Ugandan boarder to ease transport of people, goods and services.

In 2025, Mudavadi said the Government is accelerating key interventions for microeconomic recovery, job and wealth creation as well as enhancement of household incomes.

The post Mudavadi: Govt guarantees security for all Kenyans appeared first on KBC.

The Government has guaranteed all Kenyans of their safety amid reports linking state security officers to be involved in possible abductions of several citizens.
