NYERI, Kenya Mar 9 \u2013 The government has pledged an impartial crackdown on illicit brews, targeting all involved regardless of social status.<\/p>\n
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki emphasized in Nyeri that political, social, or commercial interests won\u2019t hinder the operation, stressing it will be \u201cruthless, extensive, and ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUnlike previous operations where political, social, and commercial interests were used as a rationale to ascertain the extent of implementing crackdowns on the trade and consumption of toxic alcoholic drinks and other hard drugs,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Acknowledging the security risks associated with consuming these substances, Kindiki instructed all security agencies to enforce government-issued policies and operational guidelines.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the CS issued a stern warning to any security personnel found promoting the sale or consumption of toxic alcohol and hard drugs, cautioning that such individuals would be dismissed from service and prosecuted.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo ensure the success of the operation, the Government will pull out all stops to deal with any external and\/or internal saboteurs, including sacking and prosecuting officers aiding the illicit brew and drugs business for personal monetary benefit,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
