It also sets the organization\u2019s work priorities for the next four years.<\/p>\n<p>Grynspan highlighted the historic significance of this year\u2019s conference stating that, \u201cViet Nam represents not just a development success story, but a testament to how trade and development can work together to transform the lives of people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAsia\u2019s rising economic influence, achievements in regional integration, and growing diplomatic leadership make Viet Nam the ideal setting to reimagine the future of global trade and development.\u201d She added.<\/p>\n<p>UNCTAD 16 is the United Nation\u2019s major conference on trade and development, where nations come together to discuss current global trade, finance, investment and technological trends and challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Heads of State, Ministers of Trade and Economy from UNCTAD\u2019s 195 member states, Heads of international organizations, Nobel prize winning economists, leading civil society organizations, development banks, financial and global trade organizations are expected to attend UNCTAD 16.<\/p>\n<h4>16 actions for UNCTAD16<\/h4>\n<p>According to a statement by UNCTAD, the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/unctad.org\/system\/files\/official-document\/osginf2024d7_en.pdf\">report\u00a0<\/a>to UNCTAD16, Secretary-General Grynspan underscored the organisation\u2019s commitment to supporting member states to shape their future in an increasingly multipolar world.<\/p>\n<p>The secretary-general spotlights\u00a0<a title=\"Trade and Development Board, 33rd special session: Presentation of the UNCTAD Secretary-General's Report to UNCTAD16\" href=\"https:\/\/unctad.org\/osgstatement\/trade-and-development-board-33rd-special-session-presentation-unctad-secretary\">16 actions for UNCTAD16<\/a>\u00a0to help nations better harness trade, investment, finance and technology for sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>The actions seek to bolster the four areas of transformation which countries agreed in 2021 through the landmark Bridgetown Covenant accelerating efforts towards: More diversified economies, inclusive, sustainable and resilient economies, abundant and stable finance for development as well as more\u00a0multilateralism in a multipolar world.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/kbc.co.ke\/vietnam-to-host-unctad-16-in-october-2025\/\">UNCTAD 16 set for October 2025 in Vietnam with focus on equitable, sustainable development<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/kbc.co.ke\/\">KBC<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The sixteenth session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD 16) will take place in Viet Nam in October 2025 with the theme \u201cShaping the Future: Driving Economic Transformation for Equitable, Inclusive, and Sustainable Development\u201d.
