As if that even has anything to do with politics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cain added that she is from a \u201cdeeply conservative family in the sticks of Florida\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She said the US healthcare system had failed \u201ceach and every member of my family in a different way at one point or another, as is the case with pretty much every family in this scorched earth nation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She added that \u201cthe men in charge better hope they can keep their digital smokescreens running as long as they can\u201d because \u201call hell is gonna break loose\u201d if ordinary left-wing and right-wing people \u201crealise they have the same enemy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Cain\u2019s original post on Instagram stories, according to Billboard, shared a quote from former US Secretary of Labor Robert Reich about the influence of powerful organisations like health insurance companies and oil and the National Rifle Association on Congress, and how \u201cmoney in politics is the root of our dysfunction\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Known for her provocative statements, she followed that with a post saying she wasn\u2019t being reactionary or \u201cedgy\u201d, but that \u201cI genuinely mean what I say\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCorporations giggle at protesting,\u201d Cain wrote. \u201cWhy would anyone ever willingly come down off their throne that they\u2019ve spent years building off the suffering of their fellow man?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was necessary to \u201cmake them fear for their lives and hit them in the only place they hurt\u201d, she claimed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Sick and depraved\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a discussion on Fox News, host Jason Chaffetz responded: \u201cIt makes me mad, it\u2019s sad, it\u2019s disappointing\u2026 it\u2019s fundamentally wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Political commentator Guy Benson told the channel: \u201cIt\u2019s sick, it\u2019s depraved, and the message there is violence is the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cThis should be a very black and white moral issue, and it\u2019s scary to see how much support that type of sentiment has got.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Co-host Jackie DeAngelis added: \u201cPeople need to boycott her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The station referenced a poll suggesting many college students and Generation Z sympathised with the suspect in Mr Thompson\u2019s killing.<\/p>\n<p>Luigi Mangione, 26, pleaded not guilty last month to murder and terrorism charges for the killing of Mr Thompson, who was shot outside a Manhattan hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Some on social media praised Mr Mangione\u2019s alleged crimes, often sharing their own anger at the US private healthcare system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018A different kind of pop star\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cain\u2019s latest comments come days after the release of her new album, \u2018Perverts\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>She was ranked on Forbes magazine\u2019s 30 Under 30 in Music list last year, has supported acts including Florence and the Machine and Mitski on tour, and has modelled for Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu.<\/p>\n<p>Her records have earned glowing reviews, with Billboard describing her in 2023 as \u201ca musical auteur\u201d who makes \u201cphenomenal music\u201d, and the New York Times saying in 2022 she had an \u201celaborate vision of becoming a different kind of pop star\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/kbc.co.ke\/singer-ethel-cain-defends-killmoreceos-post\/\">Singer Ethel Cain defends #KillMoreCEOs post<\/a> first appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/kbc.co.ke\/\">KBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/kbc.co.ke\/singer-ethel-cain-defends-killmoreceos-post\/\">Singer Ethel Cain defends #KillMoreCEOs post<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/kbc.co.ke\/\">KBC<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>US singer-songwriter Ethel Cain has responded to backlash after she posted the hashtag #KillMoreCEOs, following the murder of UnitedHealthcare chief executive Brian Thompson in December.
