She underscored the vital role of Community Health Promoters in widening access to essential cancer services at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n
Speaking at an event in Nyandarua County, Muthoni announced the development of the National Cervical Cancer Elimination Action Plan in partnership with ThinkWell organization.<\/p>\n
Muthoni stated that the initiative will outline a costed action plan, an investment case, and an advocacy framework to expedite Kenya\u2019s goal of eliminating cervical cancer by 2030.<\/p>\n
She also noted Kenya\u2019s involvement in the WHO AFRO Women Integrated Cancer Services (WICS) project, which aims to improve the prevention, early detection, and management of breast and cervical cancers, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and mental health through a primary healthcare approach.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs we mark the climax of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, our efforts must continue beyond today. Early screening, HPV vaccination, and timely treatment save lives. Let\u2019s ensure every woman has access to these essential services,\u201d said PS Muthoni.<\/p>\n
