Talks with Bourita \u201chelped me understand the ins and outs of the autonomy plan and realise the existential nature of this issue for Morocco,\u201d the Belgian minister underlined, adding that \u201cwe know how important of an issue this is for Morocco.\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome prominent European and international partners have changed their position,\u201d he said, noting that Morocco and Belgium \u201cwill continue to engage constructively on this subject.\u201d<\/p>\n
Belgium \u201cfully supports the UN process for a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution\u201d and \u201crecalls the UN\u2019s exclusive role in the political process,\u201d Quintin said.<\/p>\n
He also reiterated Belgium\u2019s backing for \u201cUN Security Council Resolution 2703, which underscores the role and responsibility of the parties in seeking a realistic, pragmatic, and enduring political solution based on compromise.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Belgium\u2019s constructive stance aligns with the international momentum driven by King Mohammed VI in support of Morocco\u2019s sovereignty over its Sahara and the Autonomy Plan.<\/p>\n
