President William Ruto has sent a message of condolence to the people of Namibia following the passing of their founding President Dr. Sam Nujoma.<\/p>\n
Ruto described Nujoma as a selfless, courageous, and visionary leader who dedicated his life to the liberation and development of Namibia.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe stand in solidarity with the people of Namibia in mourning the passing away of their founding President, Dr. Sam Nujoma,\u201d Ruto said.<\/p>\n
The Head of State extended his sympathies to Nujoma\u2019s family and the entire nation.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur thoughts and love are with the family and the people of Namibia at this time of grief. Rest in peace, Africa\u2019s hero!\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Nujoma, who led Namibia\u2019s struggle for independence and became its first President in 1990, is remembered for his role in shaping the country\u2019s post-colonial governance.<\/p>\n
He passed away on February 8, 2025 while receiving treatment at a hospital in Windhoek.<\/p>\n
