{"id":110170,"date":"2025-02-10T12:03:59","date_gmt":"2025-02-10T12:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2025\/02\/10\/mystery-deepens-as-missing-cancer-patient-found-dead-near-eldoret-hospital\/"},"modified":"2025-02-10T12:03:59","modified_gmt":"2025-02-10T12:03:59","slug":"mystery-deepens-as-missing-cancer-patient-found-dead-near-eldoret-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/mystery-deepens-as-missing-cancer-patient-found-dead-near-eldoret-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Mystery deepens as missing cancer patient found dead near Eldoret hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ELDORET, Kenya, Feb 10 \u2014 A 53-year-old cancer patient who disappeared from a hospital in Eldoret three weeks ago has been found dead, his body mauled by stray dogs in a nearby bush.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The man, who was receiving treatment for throat cancer, went missing on the night of January 21, 2025. <\/p>\n<p>Police say he removed his hospital attire, changed into his clothes, and walked out undetected.<\/p>\n<p>His disappearance was reported by both his family and hospital staff, prompting a search. <\/p>\n<p>His remains were later discovered in a bushy area near a river close to the facility, severely decomposed and partially eaten by dogs.<\/p>\n<p>Uasin Gishu Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed that detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>The patient has been identified, and his family has been informed.
