{"id":115422,"date":"2025-05-23T05:03:18","date_gmt":"2025-05-23T05:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2025\/05\/23\/us-based-charity-honours-sonkos-humanitarian-efforts\/"},"modified":"2025-05-23T05:03:18","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T05:03:18","slug":"us-based-charity-honours-sonkos-humanitarian-efforts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/us-based-charity-honours-sonkos-humanitarian-efforts\/","title":{"rendered":"US-based charity honours Sonko\u2019s humanitarian efforts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, May 23 \u2014 Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been recognized for his unwavering dedication to supporting disadvantaged communities throughout Kenya.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Margaret Heighton, the President and founder of the US-based charity <em>No End to Love<\/em>, conferred Sonko the honour on Thursday during a ceremony held at Sonko\u2019s offices in Upper Hill, Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>Margaret Heighton, accompanied by her husband and organization co-founder Dave Heighton, praised Sonko\u2019s extensive philanthropic work, particularly through the Sonko Rescue Team. <\/p>\n<p>The team has played a key role in delivering vital services such as healthcare, education, and emergency assistance to vulnerable families and children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey acknowledged my commitment and urged me to persist in my mission of helping those in need,\u201d Sonko noted in a social media update after the event. <\/p>\n<p>He also quoted Margaret Heighton describing him as \u201ca role model to Kenya and an inspiration to many for his compassion.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Humanitarian outreach<\/h2>\n<p>Though no longer in political office, Sonko continues to be an active force in humanitarian outreach. <\/p>\n<p>His mobile rescue operations and emergency support services have drawn widespread acclaim, both locally and abroad, for their swift response in times of crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Among the distinguished guests at the award ceremony was Ambassador Dominic Obadiah, Founder and President of Civility Voice Diplomats (CVD) and an internationally recognized advocate for peace and civility. <\/p>\n<p>Obadiah, who has championed humanitarian efforts across Africa, applauded Sonko\u2019s work in fostering peace and uplifting struggling communities.<\/p>\n<p>Manduku McKay Daudi, a project assistant with CVD, also attended the event and lauded Sonko\u2019s enduring commitment to humanitarian service.<\/p>\n<p>In his acceptance speech, Sonko expressed heartfelt appreciation for the recognition and reiterated his resolve to continue serving the needy. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis recognition renews my determination to press on with this work.
