{"id":118620,"date":"2025-07-23T09:03:17","date_gmt":"2025-07-23T09:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2025\/07\/23\/woman-forcefully-admitted-at-chiromo-strangled-to-death-autopsy\/"},"modified":"2025-07-23T09:03:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T09:03:17","slug":"woman-forcefully-admitted-at-chiromo-strangled-to-death-autopsy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/woman-forcefully-admitted-at-chiromo-strangled-to-death-autopsy\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman forcefully admitted at Chiromo strangled to death: Autopsy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 23 \u2013 Susan Njoki, the founder of the child-focused Toto Touch organization, died from manual strangulation, a postmortem examination has revealed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Njoki was pronounced dead at the Chiromo Hospital Group\u2019s Braeside branch in Nairobi, just a day after being admitted to the facility against her will.<\/p>\n<p>The findings shared on Tuesday came against the backdrop of a viral social media post in which Njoki protested her admission.<\/p>\n<p>A detailed autopsy conducted by six pathologists\u2014including representatives from the government, her family, and the hospital\u2014confirmed that the cause of death was asphyxia due to neck compression.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have done this postmortem very exhaustively, and all the various parties were represented. We did the postmortem as six pathologists, and we are all in consensus with the findings; there are no differing ideas,\u201d Dr John Ndung\u2019u, a government pathologist, said after the procedure at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe postmortem findings were that there are features of compression to the neck, and those features are in keeping with manual strangulation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Husband\u2019s detained  <\/h2>\n<p>Dr Ndung\u2019u further revealed that evidence showed Njoki died less than four hours after consuming her last meal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have found food in her stomach, so after the last meal she took, it didn\u2019t take more than four hours,\u201d he said, clarifying that Njoki died \u201cin the hospital, not on the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Njoki\u2019s death has sparked outrage and renewed calls for justice, especially after allegations she made shortly before her death.<\/p>\n<p>In social media posts, Njoki claimed her husband, Alloise Ngure, sent four doctors to forcibly inject her and take her to a mental health facility against her will.<\/p>\n<p>The late Njoki had a history of mental health treatment, and her family insists she was forcibly admitted to Chiromo\u2019s Braeside branch without consent.<\/p>\n<p>Her brother, Ephantus Kamengere, told reporters the family is contemplating further investigations, including a toxicology analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives handling the case were present at the autopsy.<\/p>\n<p>Njoki\u2019s husband has since been arrested and released on cash bail after recording a statement with authorities. <\/p>\n<p>Also questioned are Njoki\u2019s physician and several nurses at Chiromo Hospital Group.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations into the circumstances surrounding her admission and eventual death are ongoing.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 23 \u2013 Susan Njoki, the founder of the child-focused Toto Touch organization, died from manual strangulation, a postmortem examination has revealed.
