{"id":121289,"date":"2025-09-12T08:07:53","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T08:07:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2025\/09\/12\/burkina-faso-scraps-visa-fees-for-african-travellers\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T08:07:53","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T08:07:53","slug":"burkina-faso-scraps-visa-fees-for-african-travellers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/burkina-faso-scraps-visa-fees-for-african-travellers\/","title":{"rendered":"Burkina Faso scraps visa fees for African travellers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Burkina Faso has introduced visa-free entry for all African travellers, in an effort to facilitate the movement of people and goods into the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom now on, any citizen from an African country wishing to go to Burkina Faso will not pay any amount to cover visa fees,\u201d said Mahamadou Sana, the country\u2019s security minister, following a cabinet meeting chaired by military leader Capt Ibrahim Traor\u00e9 on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>African visitors will however be required to submit an online visa application, which will be reviewed for approval, the minister clarified.<\/p>\n<p>The West African nation joins countries such as Ghana, Rwanda and Kenya, which have eased travel requirements for African visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Capt Traor\u00e9, a young soldier who seized power in a 2022 coup, portrays himself as a champion of Pan-Africanism, while often criticising the West and colonialism.<\/p>\n<p>He is admired in the continent for his charismatic leadership.
