{"id":121839,"date":"2025-09-22T09:07:43","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T09:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2025\/09\/22\/private-hospitals-under-rupha-halt-sha-services-over-sh10bn-pending-bills\/"},"modified":"2025-09-22T09:07:43","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T09:07:43","slug":"private-hospitals-under-rupha-halt-sha-services-over-sh10bn-pending-bills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/private-hospitals-under-rupha-halt-sha-services-over-sh10bn-pending-bills\/","title":{"rendered":"Private hospitals under RUPHA halt SHA services over Sh10bn pending bills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 2 \u2013 Private hospitals under the Rural &amp; Urban Private Hospitals Association of Kenya (RUPHA) have halted Social Health Authority (SHA) services over Sh10 billion pending bills.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the association\u2019s chairman Brian Lishenga, all patients under SHA will be served on a cash basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Rural &amp; Urban Private Hospitals Association of Kenya (RUPHA), representing<br \/>over 700 private and faith-based healthcare facilities across the country, has today<br \/>taken the painful but necessary decision to suspend the provision of healthcare<br \/>services on credit to the Social Health Authority (SHA),\u201d he stated. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis follows the expiry\u2014at midnight on 19th September 2025\u2014of the two-week<br \/>notice we issued on 5th September 2025.
