{"id":122560,"date":"2025-10-05T11:08:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-05T11:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2025\/10\/05\/kdf-evaluates-readiness-of-somalia-based-troops-under-au-stabilization-mission\/"},"modified":"2025-10-05T11:08:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-05T11:08:11","slug":"kdf-evaluates-readiness-of-somalia-based-troops-under-au-stabilization-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/kdf-evaluates-readiness-of-somalia-based-troops-under-au-stabilization-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"KDF evaluates readiness of Somalia-based troops under AU stabilization mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 5 \u2014 The Chief of Inspectorate at the Defence Headquarters, Brigadier Lawrence Ntoyai, has led a delegation from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Directorate of Oversight, Compliance, and Accountability (DOCA) on an operational readiness assessment of KDF troops deployed under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>KDF said the mission, conducted across all its bases under AUSSOM, is part of DOCA\u2019s mandate to ensure military operations comply with KDF\u2019s legal, policy, and ethical standards.<\/p>\n<p>During the final leg of the assessment in Kismayo, the delegation was received by AUSSOM\u2013KDF Sector II Commander Brigadier Edward Banda.<\/p>\n<p>The team was briefed on key aspects of the operation, including personnel and equipment readiness, infrastructure, capacity development, troop welfare, and medical support. They later toured various departments within the camp to evaluate ongoing activities.<\/p>\n<p>Brigadier Ntoyai underscored the importance of such regular evaluations, saying they play a vital role in strengthening professionalism within the ranks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Directorate is mandated to conduct assessments to safeguard professional standards and adherence to international legal norms.
