{"id":12712,"date":"2024-03-14T07:03:28","date_gmt":"2024-03-14T07:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/03\/14\/psc-denies-appointing-jacque-maribe-to-top-government-job\/"},"modified":"2024-03-14T07:03:28","modified_gmt":"2024-03-14T07:03:28","slug":"psc-denies-appointing-jacque-maribe-to-top-government-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/psc-denies-appointing-jacque-maribe-to-top-government-job\/","title":{"rendered":"PSC denies appointing Jacque Maribe to top government job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 14 \u2013 The Public Service Commission (PSC) has denied appointing Jacque Maribe to as the head of communications at the Public Service Ministry.  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a statement, PSC chairperson Anthony Muchiri indicated that \u201cno such appointment has been made nor has a request to employ her been received by the board.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the record, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>His sentiments follow an assertion by Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria that \u201cit is true, except that I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maribe, who had been charged alongside her former fianc\u00e9 Joseph Irungu, alias Jowie, was acquitted of the murder of the businesswoman who was killed at her apartment in Nairobi\u2019s Kilimani area in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Grace Nzioka ruled that there was insufficient evidence linking Maribe to the murder, emphasizing that the prosecution had failed to provide substantial proof of her involvement in the crime.<\/p>\n<p>While acknowledging Maribe\u2019s culpability for providing false information to the police during the murder probe, Nzioka emphasized that she was not appropriately charged before the court.<\/p>\n<p>Maribe\u2019s ex-fianc\u00e9, Jowie, was found guilty of Monica\u2019s murder and was handed the death sentence on March 13.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 14 \u2013 The Public Service Commission (PSC) has denied appointing Jacque Maribe to as the head of communications at the Public Service Ministry.
