In addition to the blood clot in her lungs, the death certificate listed rectal cancer as the long-term cause of death.<\/p>\n<p>It was indicated that she had been receiving treatment for the cancer since March 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Tributes have poured in for the Canadian actress, who most recently appeared in the Emmy-winning comedy The Studio and The Last of Us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>O\u2019Hara remembered<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Actor and The Studio creator Seth Rogen said he was devastated by O\u2019Hara\u2019s death, describing the actress as \u201chysterical, kind, intuitive, generous\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re all lucky we got to live in a world with her in it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Actor Pedro Pascal, who worked with O\u2019Hara on \u2018The Last of Us\u2019, wrote on Instagram: \u201cOh, genius to be near you. Eternally grateful. There is less light in my world, this lucky world that had you, will keep you, always.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>The actress starred in six seasons of the comedy series \u2018Schitt\u2019s Creek\u2019, for which she won an Emmy for best comedy actress.<\/p>\n<p>Show creator and co-star Eugene Levy told People magazine that he has had the \u201chonour of knowing and working with the great Catherine O\u2019Hara for over fifty years\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWords seem inadequate to express the loss I feel today,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Co-creator Dan Levy, who played O\u2019Hara\u2019s son David, described her as \u201cfamily before she ever played my family\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He added on Instagram that he would \u201ccherish every funny memory I was fortunate enough to make with her\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Hara\u2019s on-screen son in holiday classics Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, Macaulay Culkin, also paid an emotional tribute on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI heard you. But I had so much more to say. I love you.
