{"id":130498,"date":"2026-02-10T09:02:51","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T09:02:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/fao-representative-presents-credentials-to-kenyan-govt\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T09:02:51","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T09:02:51","slug":"fao-representative-presents-credentials-to-kenyan-govt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/fao-representative-presents-credentials-to-kenyan-govt\/","title":{"rendered":"FAO Representative presents credentials to Kenyan Govt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The newly appointed Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representative in Kenya, Farayi Zimudzi, formally presented her credentials to the Government of Kenya in a ceremony held at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The United Nations Resident Coordinator, Dr. Stephen Jackson, was also in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>Welcoming Zimudzi on behalf of the Government, PCS Mudavadi emphasized that the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) places agriculture at the center of Kenya\u2019s development priorities, making FAO a key partner in the Country\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that FAO\u2019s mandate to transform agrifood systems aligns closely with the Government\u2019s vision and expressed confidence that her appointment will strengthen the partnership between Kenya and FAO.<\/p>\n<p>In her remarks, Zimudzi reaffirmed FAO\u2019s commitment to supporting Kenya\u2019s agricultural transformation.<\/p>\n<p>She highlighted FAO\u2019s contributions to initiatives such as the Kenya Integrated Agriculture Management Information System (KIAMIS) and the Digital Land Governance Programme, both of which are designed to enhance farmer registration, extension services, and access to land for agricultural use.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy appointment comes at a time when the Government of Kenya is prioritizing ambitious agricultural interventions under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
