{"id":130844,"date":"2026-02-12T13:03:03","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T13:03:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/lakers-womens-hockey-coach-named-betika-sjak-best-tactician\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T13:03:03","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T13:03:03","slug":"lakers-womens-hockey-coach-named-betika-sjak-best-tactician","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/lakers-womens-hockey-coach-named-betika-sjak-best-tactician\/","title":{"rendered":"Lakers Women\u2019s Hockey  coach named Betika\/SJAK best tactician"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"unknown-copy-source\">Lakers Women\u2019s Hockey Club coach Amena Sheldon Ulisi has been named Betika\/SJAK Coach for the\u00a0 Month of\u00a0 January 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ulisi led the Lakers to a historic first Africa Cup for Club Champions title in Harare, Zimbabwe, by defeating the reigning champions, Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), 2-0 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.<\/p>\n<p>The Kisumu-based team recorded two wins and one loss during the week-long tournament.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"unknown-copy-source\">Ulisi pipped Gor Mahia coach Charles Akonnor, Kabras Sugar coach Carlos Katywa, Patrick Ivuti, who led team Kenya to retain the World Cross Country title for a 3rd consecutive time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"unknown-copy-source\">Other nominees for the award were, KCB RFC coach Andrew Amonde, David Vijago of Kenya Police Bullets FC, and golf coaches Neil Mathews and David Mash to the gong.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p>Betika Marketing Specialist\u00a0 Marya Wachira expressed her admiration for the women\u2019s hockey team, acknowledging their remarkable achievement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmbarking on such a journey and securing the team\u2019s first Africa Cup Club Champions title is truly noteworthy. This milestone not only secures its place in history but also inspires ongoing investment in excellence across Kenyan sports,\u201d Ms. Marya remarked.<\/p>\n<p>SJAK President Mr. James Waindi also recognized the team\u2019s persistence, which led them to claim continental honors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was your third appearance at the annual continental championship, and you have finally emerged victorious.
