NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 18 \u2013 The Kenya Roads Board (KRB) has appointed Judith Otsyula as its new Director General.<\/p>\n
Otsyula becomes the first woman to hold the position in the road subsector, marking a historic milestone for gender inclusivity in Kenya\u2019s transport sector.<\/p>\n
Otsyula is a seasoned transport professional with over two decades of senior leadership experience in infrastructure development, strategic programme management, and institutional governance. <\/p>\n
She has a proven record of delivering transformative infrastructure initiatives and strengthening public sector institutions to advance sustainable national development.<\/p>\n
The Board expressed full confidence in her leadership, noting that under her stewardship, KRB is expected to continue enhancing institutional performance, strengthen sustainable road financing, and advance road development and maintenance across the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cKRB is confident that Mrs. Otsyula\u2019s leadership and strategic vision will further the Board\u2019s mandate and drive sustainable road financing and development,\u201d said KRB Chairperson Hon. Aisha Jumwa Katana.<\/p>\n
The Kenya Roads Board, established under the KRB Act No. 7 of 1999, oversees Kenya\u2019s road network and coordinates maintenance, rehabilitation, and development projects funded through the KRB Fund. <\/p>\n
The Board also advises the Minister for Transport on all matters relating to the country\u2019s roads.<\/p>\n
