{"id":134026,"date":"2026-03-12T15:02:50","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T15:02:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/mohamed-mmaka-appointed-as-kra-investigations-commissioner\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T15:02:50","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T15:02:50","slug":"mohamed-mmaka-appointed-as-kra-investigations-commissioner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/mohamed-mmaka-appointed-as-kra-investigations-commissioner\/","title":{"rendered":"Mohamed M\u2019maka appointed as KRA investigations commissioner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has appointed Mohamed Abdul M\u2019maka as the new Commissioner for the Investigations and Enforcement Department.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>M\u2019maka whose appointment is effective March 11, 2026 takes over from Levi Mukweso.<\/p>\n<p>While making the announcement, KRA Board said M\u2019maka is expected to help strengthen the authority\u2019s capacity to combat tax evasion, financial crimes, and illicit trade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. M\u2019maka brings over 21 years of experience in intelligence, security, and investigations. He currently serves as Chief Manager, Intelligence Collection at KRA, a role he has held since August 2025,\u201d the authority.<\/p>\n<p>M\u2019maka previously served KRA in several senior intelligence roles including Chief Manager, Intelligence<br \/>\nCoordination and Operations and Chief Manager, Intelligence Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>The career intelligence officer also served as Kenya Power\u2019s chief security officer, Manager for Security Protection and Integrity at Kenya Airways, and Senior Intelligence Officer and Investigator at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption<br \/>\nCommission and Field Intelligence Manager and Troop Commander in the Kenya Defence Forces.<\/p>\n<p>He holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategy from the National Defence University-Kenya, a Master of Arts in Security Management from Egerton University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from Kenyatta University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn his new role, Mr. M\u2019maka will lead KRA\u2019s efforts to detect, investigate, and deter tax fraud, smuggling, and other forms of revenue leakage, while strengthening enforcement mechanisms to safeguard government revenue,\u201d KRA stated.<\/p>\n<p>He is also a Certified Security Manager and a member of the International Security Management Institute and the Association of Corporate and Industrial Security Management Professionals.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kbc.co.ke\/mohamed-mmaka-appointed-as-kra-investigations-commissioner\/\">Mohamed M\u2019maka appointed as KRA investigations commissioner<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kbc.co.ke\/\">KBC Digital<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has appointed Mohamed Abdul M\u2019maka as the new Commissioner for the Investigations and Enforcement Department.
