NAIROBI, Kenya Apr 1 \u2013 \u00a0Safaricom has emerged as Kenya\u2019s top-performing mobile network operator in terms of quality of service, according to the latest Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) assessment for the 2024\u20132025 financial year.<\/p>\n
The regulator\u2019s Quality-of-Service (QoS) report places Safaricom at the top with a score of 89.72%, followed by Airtel Kenya at 81.14%, while Telkom Kenya trails at 52.76%, falling below the regulatory compliance threshold.<\/p>\n
The assessment, conducted under CA\u2019s established 2017 QoS framework, evaluates operators across three key areas: end-to-end network performance through drive and walk tests, network performance indicators, and customer experience surveys.<\/p>\n
Safaricom led across all major metrics, recording a 90.36% score in end-to-end drive tests, compared to Airtel\u2019s 76.47% and Telkom\u2019s 47.94%. The operator also achieved a 100% network performance score, matching Airtel, while Telkom recorded 60%.<\/p>\n
In customer experience, Safaricom maintained the highest satisfaction rating at 70%, slightly ahead of Airtel\u2019s 68.4%, with Telkom at 60%.<\/p>\n
The report further shows Safaricom as the only operator to meet performance targets across all five regional clusters, underscoring its nationwide consistency in service delivery.<\/p>\n
Despite strong results from leading operators, the CA report highlights a broader decline in overall industry performance over the past four years, driven by rising data demand and increased strain on telecom infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Even so, Safaricom has maintained its lead across all core indicators, reinforcing its position as the country\u2019s most reliable mobile network provider.<\/p>\n
The Communications Authority says the findings provide independent confirmation of operator performance and highlight widening gaps in service quality across the sector.<\/p>\n
