NAIROBI, Kenya Apr 5 \u2013 Political strategist and UDA Homa Bay County Secretary Silas Jakakimba has come out strongly in defence of Raymond Omollo, dismissing criticism directed at the Principal Secretary by a section of leaders from the Nyanza region as misplaced and politically driven.<\/p>\n
Jakakimba argued that the attacks on Omollo are rooted in narrow interests and fail to reflect what he described as a shifting political landscape in Nyanza. According to him, some leaders are increasingly out of touch with the region\u2019s evolving expectations and continue to rely on outdated political narratives.<\/p>\n
He noted that residents are now more focused on practical issues affecting their daily lives, signaling a departure from personality-driven politics that has historically shaped the region.<\/p>\n
Drawing from his experience and engagement on the ground, Jakakimba emphasized the need to reframe the ongoing debate away from individuals and towards substantive concerns that directly impact citizens.<\/p>\n
He further downplayed the relevance of zoning and rigid party loyalties, suggesting that grassroots priorities will ultimately determine the region\u2019s political direction.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is bigger than one individual. The conversation should be about the people and where the region is headed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
