{"id":141213,"date":"2026-05-16T10:02:51","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T10:02:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/kuccps-opens-second-call-for-university-applications-for-2025-kcse-candidates\/"},"modified":"2026-05-16T10:02:51","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T10:02:51","slug":"kuccps-opens-second-call-for-university-applications-for-2025-kcse-candidates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/kuccps-opens-second-call-for-university-applications-for-2025-kcse-candidates\/","title":{"rendered":"KUCCPS Opens Second Call for University Applications for 2025 KCSE Candidates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya May 16 \u2013 The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened a second application window, allowing Form Four leavers to revise their university choices or submit new applications for placement in universities and colleges across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The application portal will be open from May 16 to May 22, following the closure of the first application cycle on May 6.<\/p>\n<p>KUCCPS has urged all 2025 KCSE candidates who qualified for degree programmes but either missed placement or were unsuccessful to log into the system and apply again.<\/p>\n<p>According to KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome, applicants who secured provisional placement have already been notified via SMS and through the KUCCPS online portal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call upon all 2025 Form Four leavers who qualified for degree programmes but have not applied for placement, and those who applied but have not secured a course, to log into the system and apply again,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>KUCCPS revealed that a total of 212,510 students who scored a minimum grade of C+ and above in the 2025 KCSE examination have applied for various courses. This represents 79.1% of the 268,714 candidates who attained C+ and above.<\/p>\n<p>The placement body noted that several high-demand programmes, including Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Engineering, were fully filled during the first application phase due to intense competition for limited slots.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, these programmes have been temporarily removed from the application portal.<\/p>\n<p>Students who missed out on these competitive courses have been encouraged to consider other available alternatives across universities and colleges.<\/p>\n<p>KUCCPS is also conducting continuous placement for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), and Kenya Utalii College.<\/p>\n<p>Available KMTC programmes include Diplomas in Community Health, Mortuary Science, Health Records and Information Technology, Medical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy, and Public Health, among others. Eight certificate courses are also open on a rolling basis until capacity is reached.<\/p>\n<p>However, competitive programmes such as Nursing, Clinical Medicine, and Pharmacy will not be available in the current cycle and are expected to reopen for the September intake.<\/p>\n<p>At Kenya Utalii College, available programmes include Diploma in Housekeeping and Laundry Management, Certificate in Front Office Operations, and Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry Operations.<\/p>\n<p>KUCCPS confirmed that applications are open to candidates who sat KCSE examinations between 2000 and 2025, depending on programme requirements.<\/p>\n<p>To support applicants, KUCCPS and KMTC have deployed career guidance officers in 23 KMTC campuses nationwide to assist students during the application process.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, KUCCPS has partnered with the Huduma Kenya Secretariat to extend services to all Huduma Centres across the country.
