{"id":145040,"date":"2026-06-27T11:02:45","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T11:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/ps-omollo-urges-leaders-to-put-politics-aside-says-unity-is-the-foundation-for-development\/"},"modified":"2026-06-27T11:02:45","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T11:02:45","slug":"ps-omollo-urges-leaders-to-put-politics-aside-says-unity-is-the-foundation-for-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/ps-omollo-urges-leaders-to-put-politics-aside-says-unity-is-the-foundation-for-development\/","title":{"rendered":"PS Omollo Urges Leaders To Put Politics Aside, Says Unity Is The Foundation For Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 27\u2013 Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo has called on political leaders across the country to set aside their differences and work together for the benefit of citizens, saying unity among leaders is the cornerstone of peace, social cohesion and sustainable development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking during a church service and fundraising event at Ogwedhi Seventh-day Adventist Church in Suna East Constituency, Migori County, Omollo said the quality of leadership directly shapes the unity and prosperity of communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s sermon spoke powerfully about unity. When leaders are united, the people become united. When leaders work together, communities prosper. Our churches become stronger, our institutions become stronger, and development reaches the people more effectively,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Principal Secretary urged leaders to rise above political divisions and prioritize initiatives that improve the lives of wananchi, particularly in regions that have historically experienced development gaps.<\/p>\n<p>He praised the spirit of cooperation demonstrated by leaders from Migori, Homa Bay and neighbouring counties who attended the event, saying their presence reflected a shared commitment to inclusive development.<\/p>\n<p>Omollo reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to equitable development, saying the Kenya Kwanza administration is investing in infrastructure, education, healthcare and public service delivery to ensure no part of the country is left behind.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the ongoing establishment and operationalisation of new administrative units, including locations, sub-locations and divisions, saying the initiative is intended to bring government services closer to citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have gazetted several administrative units across the country to ensure wananchi can access government services more easily. We will continue recruiting and deploying officers to strengthen administration and improve service delivery at the local level,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The PS also appealed to communities to support the government by identifying men and women of integrity to serve as Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs in the newly created administrative units.<\/p>\n<p>On healthcare, Omollo encouraged Migori residents to register for the Social Health Authority (SHA) programme to benefit from affordable healthcare under the government\u2019s Universal Health Coverage agenda.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that while Migori County has made progress in SHA registration, more residents should enroll to maximise access to health services.<\/p>\n<p>Omollo further commended churches for their contribution to promoting moral values, peaceful coexistence and national unity, describing faith-based institutions as critical partners in nation-building.<\/p>\n<p>The fundraising event attracted senior national and county leaders, including Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, Lang\u2019ata MP Phelix Odiwuor (Jalang\u2019o), Uriri MP Mark Nyamita, Tom Odege, Walter Owino and Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 27\u2013 Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo has called on political leaders across the country to set aside their differences and work together for the benefit of citizens, saying unity among leaders is the cornerstone of peace, social cohesion and sustainable development.
