Speaking\u00a0through\u00a0Chief\u00a0of\u00a0Staff\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Christopher\u00a0Wanjau\u00a0during\u00a0the\u00a0handover\u00a0of\u00a0mattresses\u00a0and\u00a0essential\u00a0supplies\u00a0to\u00a0Nairobi\u00a0West\u00a0Prison,\u00a0Kindiki\u00a0said\u00a0the\u00a0reforms\u00a0are\u00a0gathering\u00a0momentum.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe\u00a0journey\u00a0of\u00a0reforming\u00a0our\u00a0prisons\u00a0and\u00a0other\u00a0correctional\u00a0facilities\u00a0is\u00a0on\u00a0course\u00a0to\u00a0enable\u00a0them\u00a0to\u00a0comprehensively\u00a0and\u00a0meaningfully\u00a0rehabilitate\u00a0citizens\u00a0who\u00a0in\u00a0one\u00a0way\u00a0or\u00a0the\u00a0other\u00a0have\u00a0been\u00a0in\u00a0conflict\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0law\u00a0and\u00a0serving\u00a0time\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u00a0said\u00a0the\u00a0government\u00a0has\u00a0committed\u00a0significant\u00a0resources\u00a0to\u00a0improving\u00a0prison\u00a0infrastructure\u00a0while\u00a0expanding\u00a0vocational\u00a0training\u00a0and\u00a0rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe\u00a0government\u00a0has\u00a0invested\u00a0a\u00a0substantial\u00a0amount\u00a0of\u00a0resources;\u00a0financial,\u00a0human\u00a0and\u00a0material,\u00a0to\u00a0facilitate\u00a0coordinated,\u00a0sustainable\u00a0and\u00a0comprehensive\u00a0rehabilitation\u00a0of\u00a0all\u00a0inmates\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0correctional\u00a0facilities.\u00a0This\u00a0includes\u00a0equipping\u00a0them\u00a0with\u00a0necessary\u00a0and\u00a0relevant\u00a0knowledge\u00a0and\u00a0expertise\u00a0that\u00a0will\u00a0help\u00a0transform\u00a0them\u00a0and\u00a0make\u00a0their\u00a0reintegration\u00a0back\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0society\u00a0successful\u00a0and\u00a0beneficial.\u201d<\/p>\n

Correctional\u00a0Services\u00a0Principal\u00a0Secretary\u00a0Salome\u00a0Beacco\u00a0said\u00a0the\u00a0donation\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0the\u00a0government\u2019s\u00a0determination\u00a0to\u00a0improve\u00a0prison\u00a0standards.<\/p>\n
