{"id":145636,"date":"2026-07-03T11:02:58","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T11:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/king-kaka-releases-new-album-year-of-the-pen\/"},"modified":"2026-07-03T11:02:58","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T11:02:58","slug":"king-kaka-releases-new-album-year-of-the-pen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/king-kaka-releases-new-album-year-of-the-pen\/","title":{"rendered":"King Kaka releases new album \u2018Year of the Pen\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kenyan rapper, storyteller and entrepreneur King Kaka has today released his new album, \u2018Year of the Pen\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The 13-track album marks King Kaka\u2019s return with his first studio album project in several years.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement about the album, UMG describe the album as \u201cWith intentional writing, storytelling, reinvention and musical range, \u2018Year of the Pen\u2019 captures King Kaka in a renewed season: sharper with the pen, broader in sound, and fully back to business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following the release of the album, the rapper will also release a new single featuring Max Okello dubbed \u201cNaling\u2019i Yo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The romantic Afro-fusion record \u201cNaling\u2019i Yo,\u201d means \u201cI love you,\u201d and blends King Kaka\u2019s storytelling with Okello Max\u2019s soulful delivery. With Lingala, French, Luo, rap, R&amp;B, trap and rumba-inspired influences, the song highlights the album\u2019s softer, more melodic and pan-African side.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the release of the new album, Kaka released \u201cBraggadocious\u201d featuring Iyanii on 29th May 29, setting the tone for the album.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the creative direction of the album, King Kaka said that he was back \u201cdifferently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrowth is a beautiful thing because you get to experience different versions of yourself. With this album, I wanted people to hear that I am back to business differently, from the writing to the delivery, to the visuals, to the message.
