The 25 year old remained in the leading pack with exchanges of 1st position going into the last 3 laps between the Kenyan and Ethiopia\u2019s trio of Belew Kefale,Behre Amare and Ayana Mulia.<\/p>\n
However it was Kenya\u2019s last laugh as Chepng\u2019etich sprinting in the with 100m to go\u00a0 to bag the gold medal in 33:37.00 minutes as Kefale settled for silver while Amare took bronze.<\/p>\n
Thursday night gold was Kenya\u2019s 6th at the Accra games and 2nd of the day.<\/p>\n
The medal elevated Kenya to the 9th position overall in the medal table with 6 gold and 6 silver medals and 12 bronze.<\/p>\n
