{"id":2119,"date":"2024-02-18T09:03:38","date_gmt":"2024-02-18T09:03:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/02\/18\/129-individuals-engaging-in-illegal-pharmaceutical-activities-arrested\/"},"modified":"2024-02-18T09:03:38","modified_gmt":"2024-02-18T09:03:38","slug":"129-individuals-engaging-in-illegal-pharmaceutical-activities-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/129-individuals-engaging-in-illegal-pharmaceutical-activities-arrested\/","title":{"rendered":"129 individuals engaging in illegal pharmaceutical activities arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 18 \u2013 The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has arrested 129 individuals in three regions following a crackdown that hunted down illegal pharmaceutical activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a joint operation with the Ministry of Health and the National Drug Regulatory Authority, they apprehended the individuals in Nairobi, South Rift, and Western and were able to recover 200 cartons of illicit medicines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ppbkenya\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@ppbkenya<\/a>crackdown on illegal pharmaceutical activities this week resulted in the apprehension of 129 individuals and seizure of over 200 cartons of illicit medicines across Nairobi, South Rift, and Western regions,\u201d PPB stated on X.<\/p>\n<p>The Crackdown kicked off on January 29 and focused on pharmaceutical premises that illegally distributed unregistered medicines which posed a significant health risk.<\/p>\n<p>The PPB head of enforcement and surveillance Kaluai Julius has cautioned the public against purchasing medicines from unauthorized anauthorised sources.<\/p>\n<p>He further urged pharmaceutical practitioners to review and update transportation processes for pharmaceuticals to enhance efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Healthcare facilities handling pharmaceuticals have further been urged to apply online for the disposal of pharmaceutical waste or contact PPB regional officers for assistance<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis successful operation reflects PPB\u2019s dedication to maintaining the integrity of the pharmaceutical industry and protecting citizens\u2019 well-being.
