{"id":21587,"date":"2024-04-02T17:03:39","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T17:03:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/04\/02\/mbita-dcc-found-dead-in-his-residence\/"},"modified":"2024-04-02T17:03:39","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T17:03:39","slug":"mbita-dcc-found-dead-in-his-residence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/mbita-dcc-found-dead-in-his-residence\/","title":{"rendered":"Mbita DCC found dead in his residence"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td-paragraph-padding-1\">\n<p><strong>A sombre mood engulfed Mbita Sub County after the area Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) was found dead in his official residence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Confirming the incident, Homa Bay County Commissioner (CC) Moses Lilan said that the DCC identified as Moranga Morekwa had been in good health before he suffered the sudden death.<\/p>\n<p>Lilan described Morekwa\u2019s demise as a big loss to the administration fraternity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was only on Friday when Morekwa led a multi- agency team in raiding unlicensed bars and dens selling illicit alcohol in Mbita Sub-county,\u201d the CC said.<\/p>\n<p>He said preliminary investigations revealed that Morekwa died of an illness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was sick a couple of weeks ago but regained his health and resumed his official duties. But it is unfortunate that the illness took his life\u00a0suddenly,\u201d Mr Lilan said.<\/p>\n<p>He described Morekwa as a dedicated officer in promoting law and order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was a hard working officer who was committed in enforcing law and order as well as coordinating government programmes.\u201d Lilan said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that his contributions to the fight against illicit brews made an indelible mark in the county.\u00a0 \u201cI pass my condolences to his family,\u201d Lilan said.<\/p>\n<p>Morekwa\u2019s body was moved to Kirindo MED 25 mortuary in Mbita Sub-county.<\/p>\n<p>However, the government is facilitating transfer of the body to Nairobi in line with his family\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe family requested us to transfer the body to Nairobi.
