Three suspects trafficking marijuana disguised as animal feed have been arrested in Subukia, Nakuru county.<\/p>\n
The seizure by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) followed a tip-off regarding a suspicious Nissan vehicle, that led to its interception in Subukia while en route to Nakuru.<\/p>\n
In the Friday operation, 45 bales of Marijuana weighing 138kg were found parked separately in a KBX 684H Nissan Vanette and KBZ 861H Toyota Crown Royal Saloon.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter search and discovery of 9 bales covered in sacks of hay, the driver, Evans Oluoch Rogo, 32 led detectives to his two accomplices who were enjoying a cool breeze at QUALIT Hotel in the city of Nakuru\u201d said the DCI on X.<\/p>\n\n
Ali Abdikadir Ali, 30 and Ortofa Dida aged 28 were also arrested and 36 bales of the illicit substance weighing 79kg were impounded from their saloon car.<\/p>\n
The Anti-Narcotics Unit has put in place stringent measures to dismantle drug trafficking cartels in concerted efforts to paralyse the illicit trade.<\/p>\n
The case was referred to the Rift Valley Regional Headquarters in Nakuru where legal procedures have been instigated.<\/p>\n
