Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok\u2019s vehicle has been involved in a road accident in the Kipsarwet area of Bomet East.<\/p>\n
The accident involved Barchok\u2019s official vehicle and a boda boda rider who was carrying a pillion passenger.<\/p>\n
A statement from the governor said he and the boda boda rider escaped unhurt.<\/p>\n
The pillion passenger sustained minor soft tissue injuries and is currently receiving medical attention at Longisa County Referral Hospital, the statement said.<\/p>\n
Governor Barchok wished the patient a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn light of this incident, Barchok urges all road users to observe traffic rules, and exercise responsibility and caution at all times to prevent such unfortunate occurrences.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bomet Central Police Commander Musa Omar Imamai confirming the incident said the pillion passenger of the bodaboda was injured and has been transferred to Longisa County Referral Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
Governor Prof Barchok was headed to his Bomet office when the accident occurred.<\/p>\n
The National Transport and Safety Authority data indicates that about 1,214 lives were lost in road accidents in the last three months.<\/p>\n
