Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) sleuths have arrested an imposter who has been presenting himself as a detective at the agency.<\/p>\n
The suspect identified as Militonic Mwendwa Kitute, was tracked from Nairobi to his Kitui home where he was arrested on Saturday at 4 am.<\/p>\n
His firearm and seven mobile phones are among items confiscated from him.<\/p>\n
The serial imposter, who has a conviction history and unsuccessfully vied for a Parliamentary seat in the 2022 general elections, was arrested on Saturday and is currently detained at Kilimani Police Station.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn armed and dangerous criminal who has been conning Kenyans while impersonating EACC Detectives, as well as issuing fake Integrity Clearance Certificates to job seekers at a fee, in the names of top EACC officials, has been arrested,\u201d said EACC in a statement.<\/p>\n
The suspect was escorted from the Integrty centre to Milimani Law Courts.<\/p>\n
