NAIROBI, Kenya Apr 26 \u2013 The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has extended time for polls in delayed grassroots elections.<\/p>\n
The party\u2019s National Elections Board (NEB) chairman Anthony Mwaura said the move is to accommodate voters who haven\u2019t had the chance to cast their ballots yet.<\/p>\n
The polls were scheduled to close at 3.00 pm to pave the way for the vote-counting exercise.<\/p>\n
The party is holding the election in five regions: Nairobi, Busia, Narok, West Pokot, and Homa Bay.<\/p>\n
Mwaura had earlier assured of a free and fair process.<\/p>\n
He stated that over\u00a05,000,\u00a0electronic gadgets and necessary\u00a0manpower\u00a0had\u00a0been distributed\u00a0in the polling stations in the 2,900 polling centers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the logistical plans are in place. Election materials, notably the electronic gadgets to\u00a0be used, have been distributed to respective counties\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0manpower\u00a0is well prepared to conduct the elections,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
According to Mwaura, the gadgets will meticulously guide the voter on the steps to take to vote for a candidate.<\/p>\n
