Search and rescue operations for victims of the Mai Mahiu floods tragedy entered the second day with 76 people reported missing.<\/p>\n
48 people died after walls of a gulley filled with water burst sweeping away homes Sunday night following ongoing heavy rains.<\/p>\n
The Kenya Red Cross has set up a desk at a local school to help families find lost loved ones. So far 110 people have been rescued.<\/p>\n
According to residents, at least 16 homes were swept away in the area.<\/p>\n
Approximately 250 people are being hosted at Ngeya Girls Secondary School, where they have been provided with essential items, courtesy of the National and County Government of Nakuru and partners.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Kenya Red Cross continues its search, rescue, and retrieval efforts, along with providing psychosocial support services to the affected families,\u201d said the humanitarian organisation.<\/p>\n
