Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has highlighted the pivotal role of economic diplomacy as he addressed the Official Closing of the Kenyan Diplomatic Representatives\u2019 Training.<\/p>\n
Mudavadi, who is also the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs emphasised that Kenya\u2019s economic approach is paramount in promoting the nation\u2019s economic interests abroad.<\/p>\n
He commended the participants for delving into the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, underscoring its significance in driving Kenya\u2019s economic growth.<\/p>\n
Mudavadi outlined key objectives for Kenya\u2019s diplomatic missions, stating that they must serve as hubs of economic diplomacy.<\/p>\n
He urged diplomats to go beyond routine correspondence and actively identify opportunities to increase exports and expand market access.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach Mission is expected to clearly map out the country\u2019s exports and how to increase those exports and grow new markets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mudavadi further emphasised the importance of elevating Kenya\u2019s regional anchor status.<\/p>\n
\u201cMissions must work to elevate Kenya\u2019s regional anchor status,\u201d he stated, urging diplomats to identify and leverage Kenya\u2019s strengths to enhance its regional influence.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou must know what makes Kenya a regional anchor state and work around them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
In addition to promoting economic interests, PCS highlighted the need for diplomatic infrastructure expansion.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn order to work optimally, the Ministry seeks the expansion of its Diplomatic infrastructure, a task in which Missions will play a lead role,\u201d he affirmed.<\/p>\n
Mudavadi expressed confidence in the readiness of Kenya\u2019s diplomatic corps to champion economic diplomacy.<\/p>\n
