{"id":4491,"date":"2024-02-23T15:03:48","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T15:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/02\/23\/mudavadi-govt-to-provide-strong-and-stable-environment-for-sportspeople\/"},"modified":"2024-02-23T15:03:48","modified_gmt":"2024-02-23T15:03:48","slug":"mudavadi-govt-to-provide-strong-and-stable-environment-for-sportspeople","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/mudavadi-govt-to-provide-strong-and-stable-environment-for-sportspeople\/","title":{"rendered":"Mudavadi: Govt to provide strong and stable environment for sportspeople"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td-paragraph-padding-1\">\n<p><strong>The Government will continue to provide a stable and secure environment for the youth to explore their talents, showcasing them and scaling the global terrain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said there is need for the country to remain peaceful with a steady economic growth trajectory for the youth to achieve their dreams in sports and arts.<\/p>\n<p>He spoke in Chepkorio, Elgeyo Marakwet county where he joined President William Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, sporting dignitaries and mourners at the funeral service for the late world record marathon holder Kelvin Kiptum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI recognize and appreciate President Ruto\u2019s government for continuously championing peace, security and stability that anchors the opportunities that bound amongst Kenyans.\u201d Said Mudavadi.<\/p>\n<p>Mudavadi eulogized Kiptum as a young upcoming marathoner whose star had started shining but which has been abruptly shattered.<\/p>\n<p>He said many young athletes had already started emulating Kiptum and hoping that one day they will also rise to the global athletic stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI condole with the family of Kelvin Kiptum, a flame that has been blown out by an unfortunate accident just a few days ago.\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a difficult moment for family, the people of Chepkorio and Elgeyo Marakwet County and the entire athletics fraternity, but what we would wish and pray is that one day the record that Kiptum was planning to break, will be broken by his children Precious and Caleb.\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Mudavadi said, Kiptum had already made an indelible mark in the athletics field and his win at the Chicago Marathon in October 2023 was a sign that he was rising to a meteoric global fame.<\/p>\n<p>Kiptum died aged 24, and he has left behind a widow Asenath Rotich and two children Precious and Caleb.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kbc.co.ke\/mudavadi-govt-to-provide-strong-and-stable-environment-for-sportspeople\/\">Mudavadi: Govt to provide strong and stable environment for sportspeople<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kbc.co.ke\/\">KBC<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government will continue to provide a stable and secure environment for the youth to explore their talents, showcasing them and scaling the global terrain.
