{"id":46175,"date":"2024-05-29T12:03:40","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T12:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/05\/29\/kisii-administration-cecm-ndemo-survives-impeachment\/"},"modified":"2024-05-29T12:03:40","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T12:03:40","slug":"kisii-administration-cecm-ndemo-survives-impeachment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/kisii-administration-cecm-ndemo-survives-impeachment\/","title":{"rendered":"Kisii Administration CECM Ndemo survives impeachment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KISII, Kenya, May 29 \u2014 Kisii County Executive Committee Member for Administration, Alfred Ndemo, has survived impeachment proceedings after the County Assembly absolved him on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ndemo, cited for gross misconduct over allegations of forging Governor Simba Arati\u2019s signature and skewed hiring, survived the attempt after forty-three ward representatives voted to defeat the motion.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-four Members of the County Assembly backed the motion linked to Governor Simba Arati who interdicted the Executive about a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Those who backed the motion accused Ndemo of Ndemo bullying employees and favouring female candidates during recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>They cited the violation of the Leadership and Integrity Act.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.capitalfm.co.ke\/news\/2024\/05\/kisii-administration-cecm-faces-ouster-over-forgey-skewed-hiring\/\">Kisii Administration CECM faces ouster over forgey, skewed hiring<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Assembly had constituted a five-member committee to probe the matter and report back for a resolution.<\/p>\n<p>The committee led by Michael Motume upheld a claim that Ndemo appropriated himself an enforcement officer to do his bidding, at one instance requesting him to escort him home.<\/p>\n<p>Minority Chief Whip Denis Ombachi however faulted the report saying it failed to capture substantive matters grave enough to warrant an impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>Ombachi asked Arati to find other ways to call his Cabinet to order without destroying the reputation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease let\u2019s find other ways of resolving issues.
